Description

As the Analytics Platform Site Reliability Engineer on our Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) Pilot Training Transformation (PTT) team you will collaborate to assure the program’s mission to be a member of the engineers responsible for the infrastructure our customers use internally and externally to run the business with observability, scalability, and capacity planning as main functions. The team you will be on and help grow is a talented and diverse group of engineers focused on providing a highly reliable.

We are seeking DevOps Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies to join our team. Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code.

This program provides the support required for maintaining, modifying and enhancing all Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) Pilot Training Transformation (PTT) cloud applications, data warehouse, and analytics.

Responsibilities

The Analytics Platform Site Reliability Engineer will collaborate with and across agile development teams to implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines, automation, containerization, and cloud native services for development.

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and provide direction for Google cloud infrastructure
  • Create and maintain DevOps monitoring scripts using Python and Google Tools
  • Perform production deployments using automated tools
  • Participate in corporate meetings regarding cloud ops direction, and provide feedback to the team
  • Address infrastructure issues as they arise
  • Monitor system health, identify and troubleshoot issues or vulnerabilities
  • Monitor system performance and identify optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
  • Work with cloud native stack, build on Google, use technologies like Kubernetes and Serverless

Qualification Requirements:

Education/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in DevOps engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform
  • 2+ years of experience with Open Source tools (Chef, Jenkins, and CI/CD)
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux, server automation and scripting
  • 2+ years of experience with Object Oriented Programming concepts
  • 2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices
  • Maintain and provide direction for Google cloud infrastructure

Desired Experience:

  • Ability to obtain a Clearance
  • Google Certified Professional Data Engineer
  • Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds at times.
