EU Regulations - Biotech Labeling
New EU Regulations on biotechnology will require tracking of ingredients and possible labeling of US candy exports to Europe. New regulations will affect nearly all food and feed products made from or containing corn and soybeans from the U.S. and many other U.S.-manufactured food products. For the confectionery industry, those companies using U.S. corn-derived ingredients such as corn syrup or corn starch and soy-derived ingredients such as soy lecithin or soy flour will be impacted.
